• The International Rugby Board (IRB) is the world governing body for rugby union football.
  
  
• USA Rugby, a member nation of the IRB, is the governing body of all rugby union football played in the United States. The Washington Renegades are a member of USA Rugby.

• In October 2000, the Washington Renegades helped establish the International Gay Rugby Association and Board (IGRAB). The organization is based in London, England, and includes teams from England, Scotland, France, Ireland, South Africa, Argentina, the US, Canada and New Zealand. IGRAB also includes individual players from around the world.

• Zurich Premiership: The official site of the English Zurich Premier League, the top flight of English club rugby.
  
  
• Heineken Cup: The official site of the European club and provincial championship, featuring teams from England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland, France and Italy.
  
  
• Super 14: The premier provincial rugby competition of the Southern Hemisphere, featuring teams from New Zealand (5), Australia (4) and South Africa (5). Fox Sports World, available on many cable and satellite packages, broadcasts Super 14 games weekly during the season.
  
  
• Six Nations: The premier international rugby tournament of Europe. England, France, Wales, Scotland, Ireland and Italy are the competing nations.
  
  
• Tri-Nations: An annual international competition between New Zealand, Australia and South Africa.
  
  
• Setanta: About the only place you can find rugby on TV in America. It aint cheap, but you know how it is with junkies......
